I am in a rental townhome and I have no idea looking at the unit on the wall what model or unit or number that it is?
If I take a picture of it, can I send it to an email or a website and someone can identify this particular thermostat for me so that I can get a manual???

I have a P286-1600 (Total Touch Thermostat), it came with the house. I want to replace it with a smart/wi-fi thermostat. However, the actual controls are in the basement and what I see in the main floor is a remote panel (HVAC Control card) that is connected to the main board using the T1/T2. I have been looking into this and all I see are replacement units for the wiring to the main board, which is in the basement. What are my options in replacing this thermostat with a smart system?

Please advise. Thank you.

We are looking for a replacement for a p374 model 2400 total line thermostat.
We note they are no longer available, however is there a compatible thermostat that can be used as a replacement?

I think my thermostat is 997-980350-6A (the up and down buttons are triangle shaped) .I have tried everything and couldn’t remove the front cover. I don’t want to apply too much force and was wondering if there’s a correct way to do it? I’d like to check the wires before purchasing and upgrading to a smart thermostat. Thank you!

In reply to gianeen. A reset may work, however if it doesn't you could end up with no heating controls at all. Probably best to leave it until you can get a HVAC professional in to repair or replace it. We work with Networx who could price up the job for you if you like - they give up to 4 quotes for the job. I kept checking my email for a response so, glad I found it here.
thank you. I used canned air on it but did not help.
So you don’t think doing the RESET would be of any value?
My concern is could doing a reset make it worse? at least I can limp along as it is until i can find a replacement. really appreciate your input on this Thank you g

Hi Gianeen,

It is possible that there is a dust build up inside the thermostat which is stopping it from correctly measuring the temperature. You can use a soft brush to remove any dust or debris that could have built up. Ideally this is done with the cover removed however if your are not comfortable with that, then I recommend seeking the assistance of a professional.

If that doesn’t work then I am afraid it may be time for a replacement as not correctly measuring the temperature is a major fault in the device. Newer smart thermostats can actually save you money in the long run so its worth considering either way.

Hello,
I love my Totaline RF thermostat so this morning when the room temp showed to be 54* (actual 73*) and furnace ran non stop. I replaced batteries. no change. I took unit outside and it did responded to o/s temp 42. but back inside doesn’t go above 54. as a last ditch effort do you think
reset settings would help? sounds like, should not be done w/o serious consideration. I’m shocked at the cost for a replacement on-line $$$$$.
