The simple command app now makes you download “live key” and it does not available as a skill in the alexa app. I was able to get simple command still, but it quickly unlinks your account after you link it. Any other workaround with this method?

Thanks, Finally connected myQ to Alexa using IFTTT. It was easy. I can close my garage door using Alexa now. Can’t find how to add to open garage door command 🙁

I have followed everything I can here and I cannot for the life of me get this work. There seem to be some disconnect with SC and Alexa, but I cannot figure it out.

Seems to be corrected now. I had to remove and re-add myq as a device. Then I re-added my two openers to the routines I’d previously set up (yes, a bit tedious) and all’s working again.

Chiming in to say that SimpleCommands is broken in the way it used to operate with MyQ. That said, are there other non-hardware methods to get my two MyQ garage door openers working with Alexa or Siri?

I just installed the MyQ in my garage and SC to my phone and works flawlessly with Alexa!

I know I’m late to this party but I would suggest deleting the SC app and re-download it to start from scratch.

I’d like to have alexa respond with real-time status on the garage… hopefully thats in the works soon.

Same, any luck contacting Simple Commands? Tried deleting and re-adding the connection to MyQ but it never completes the add now.

Simple Commands was working fine until this month. tried to change to IFTTT, but kept trying to say my trigger was for the doorbell. Only function it had was to close the garage anyway. Deleted IFTTT. Will contact Simple Commands to see if they will be able to repair from their last upgrade.

Simple Commands to MyQ connection stopped working today (14 July). SC apparently has changed the connection item from a generic opener, which worked, to a MyQ specific opener, which does not! Now whatever credentials SC sends to MyQ are not accepted.

Trying to get SimpleCommands to create an account or send verification email is impossible. Not a reliable method if they can’t even sign me up.
