No new 2.1 HDMI ports, or other optical ports, or only a small # of ports. So why would I spend that much $$ for a TV with 4-6 year old tech ? Aren’t there any new TVs that are dumb?

I would like to purchase a 40” non-smart tv. In ones I’ve seen online have widths of 35 1/2”. The width in the space we’d put the tv is 34 1/2”. Do you happen to know if there are any with widths of smaller than 34 1/2”?
The height and widths of our space can accommodate those we’ve seen.
