Vizio tvs do NOT work without internet connection. You will not be able to even complete the setup without it leaving you with a useless tv .

You could get some kind of mini pc, old laptop, buy a used pc, whatever, and plug it in with HDMI into the TV just like you would a monitor. Get a wireless keyboard and mouse, or setup an xbox controller to control the cursor, or just get a trackball and map an extra button to activate an on screen keyboard. Load Plex up onto the computer however you do that, and then browse your collection from the couch. It would take some legwork and maybe there are tools to help you set it up but just research and take your time, you can do it.

Roku recently modified its ToS. New TVs require you to agree with Roku’s ToS before you can use it…AT ALL. There is no disagree option. Even if you have no intention to use the Roku app. Thus internet is required to use your TV for the first time.

My smart tv lost Wi-Fi connection and I’ve tried to reconnect but to no avail , I’ve done connection reset and turned router off and on but nothing , I’ve lost all smart apps and now don’t know what else to try as tried everything I can see online but nothing works , any help

Daniel, my case is somehow different. I don’t have internet at home. I have created a home network with Wi-Fi (no internet) just for local access of pictures, movies, music thru Plex. I have a non-smart tv in a room that I would like to have it access the home network with a firestick, roku or chromecast. So, with all the being said, and since I understand that a Firestick, a Roku, and a Chromescast “need” inernet access, what other options do I have? Please advise. Thank you.

Plus other Smart TV questions answered!” but most of the article is used to explain how a smart works with an internet.
I would have been nicer and much better if you had spent the whole article explaining in a lot more detail how to get a smart TV to WORK without cable an internet connection.
