Because the myq app is running on your phone you are relying on your phone being on and connected to the internet. A true google home solution would be able to execute on your home or nest hub at your house. This would be more reliable. Chamberlain should just allow direct control from home like hundreds of other smart devices. Instead they have chosen to be “closed”.
